All-Pumps Electric Diaphragm Pump

ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Description

ELECTRIC OPERATED DOUBLE DIAPHRAGM PUMP

Superior Durability, Low Energy Cost, High Volumetric Efficiency

An electric diaphragm pump combines the air-operated diaphragm pump technology with power efficiency by eliminating the need for air compressor attachment. Industry owners are quick to jump to the electric model of diaphragm pumps as they eliminate the high costs in operating compressors, which is one of the main issues in using an air-operated diaphragm pump. Furthermore, they improve the pump’s efficiency as it now only has to deal with fluid rather than fluid and air.

EODD PUMP

The mechanical simplicity of EODD makes the need for maintenance rare and when needed, they can be done in a breeze. Furthermore, with an EODD pump, even to a range of about 40 percent solids, if the media is compressible, it can be pumped without difficulties. True process control is achieved via optional variable frequency drive, technology unavailable in air operated diaphragm pumps. Optional discharge dampeners and suction stabilizers are available to minimize flow pulsations under variable or demanding system conditions.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF AN ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP

The difference from an air-operated diaphragm pump is the center section of this pump as it uses an electric drive instead of compressed air. The center section of this pump is filled with pressurized air and is mechanically moved left/right by the motor so it pushes and pulls the diaphragm from left to right. This back-and-forth motion, forces liquid out of one chamber and into the outlet manifold, while filling the opposite fluid chamber via the inlet manifold. Upon changeover, the fluid section that was filled on the previous shift empties into the outlet manifold and the fills the opposite chamber via the inlet manifold. The smooth changeover allows for reduced pulsation at the outlet.
